New millionaire Cecilia Austin declined to have her photo taken. She won’t return our phone calls either.

The Florida Lottery announced recently that Cecilia Austin of Navarre claimed a top prize in the $2,000,000 MonopolyTM Florida Edition Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $1,540,000.00.

Austin purchased her winning ticket from the Tom Thumb store located at 9810 Navarre Parkway. The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The $10 Scratch-Off game launched July 5 and features more than $151 million in prizes, including eight top prizes of $2,000,000. The game’s overall odds of winning are one in 3.45.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 65 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $734 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2015-16.
